JARED LETO-Host of MTV Asia Awards
Jared Leto is a rebel with a gallant cause. With his deep-set sparkling blue eyes and 14 year track record in the media industry, it is clear that Jared possess an immense amount of enthusiasm, drive and charm that have constantly kept audiences captivated.
Back in the humble days of 1994, Jared starred in hit teen-series "My So-Called Life" and since then has developed such an affinity for acting that he was cast by major directors in some of the greatest movies of our time, such as "Fight Club", "Girl Interrupted" and "American Psycho". Following which, his determination and dedication towards acting landed him the lead in "Chapter 27" where he had to put on 67 pounds for the role of John Lennon's killer, Mark David Chapman and he had to lose 28 pounds for his critically acclaimed role as a heroin addict in "Requiem for a Dream".
His edgy personality does not stand alone in films but can also be seen in his expression of music. Jared is the lead vocalist, rhythm guitarist and sole songwriter of his band 30 Seconds to Mars. Armed with his ravishingly good looks and stellar vocals, Jared, together with his band, has expressed deep concern over the global warmng issue with their album A Beautiful Lie - an emotional album thematically based around the concept of change.
This year, the multi-talented Jared will again be put in the spotlight by hosting the MTV Asia Awards (MAA) in Genting, Malaysia. "It's an honor to be a part of what I'm sure will be an exciting and unforgettable night in a magical and beautiful country," says Leto.

Talk about bling! One of the highlights of the 2008 MTV Asia Awards will be the design of the trophy, which transcends the conventional template of other award trophies. The MTV Asia Awards trophy embodies the “breaking rule” philosophy of the brand, providing viewers, fans and artists alike with off-the-wall creativity and inspiration. This year, MTV will be presenting the winners with a heavyweight item to mark the return of a glamorous M-- a gold bar in the shape of an ‘M’.
“M is back and what more to make a statement than with a gold bar in a Casino resort, Genting – The City of Entertainment? It is extravagant, lavish and over-the-top, the ultimate Bling! Other than putting the M back into music, we’re also bringing the Mojo back into the most authoritative International Music Awards Show in Asia,” said Silvia Goh, Vice President, Multiplatform Content.
The trophy is plated in 24K gold by Risis, MTV’s official partner for the trophy. Each trophy comes in a customised velvet case and envelope. “All that glitter may be gold after-all!” added Silvia Goh.

MTV..I have a question here. Last year MTV want viewers post some questions to JET for MTV Ask. Most interesting questions posted will get picked. My question just been picked and the best part is Jet picked my question for "Question of the day" and will get their autographed CD. But I still don't recieve the CD yet. MTV please explain it to me. Why? Thanks.
