[2006-03-10 09:28:25] IP: 210.16.X.X - SCPL analogy It just dawned on me that the SCPL will be as thin as an antenna! [2006-03-09 21:28:29] IP: 210.16.X.X - MOTOSCPL A beautiful lady inspired me to make a MOTOSCPL ad :) supporting link: http://home.comcast.net/~pvpr2/motoscpl/motoscpl.jpg [2006-03-01 22:32:46] IP: 202.73.X.X - QUAKE I was in school when it suddenly rained. I knew there was someting sinister about it, but I ignored my instinct. And then it happened. The earth shook. Not once, but twice, with the second stronger than the first. It was alarming because it was intensifying. Good thing everyone remained calm. Outside, the streets were flooded. And then I met Claire. She said she was scared. Tomorrow was the 13th day after the St. Bernard landslide. And the landslide was the 13th day after the Ultra stampede. I didn't believe it, but my hair's standing on it's end. Let's see what happens tomorrow. [2006-02-26 00:30:50] IP: 210.16.X.X - More thoughts on the SCPL I read an article that said the SCPL is “Touted as the model that will be responsible for the genocide of all other handphone makes.”* I also read that Motorola wants to “grow market share.”** Now, in order for these to happen, maybe Motorola will leverage their experience with the ultra-low end of the market and produce a SCPL that really costs forty bucks for operators. And for everyone to buy, the SCPL has to be a compelling product. By compelling, I mean it has to have that wow factor. So what impresses people nowadays? Well, if it’s going to be thin and super durable, that’s impressive. But what can be even more impressive than that? Maybe a low price yet strong features. Although people have a tendency to think that something cheap is no good, I’m interested to see how the SCPL will counter that. Another question is, why would Motorola do this? Imagine, if you can capture the emerging markets, there’ll be less room for other handphone makers to grow. It’ll be like lockdown in favor of Motorola. And it’ll still be profitable because of the large volume, even at forty bucks. Now, let’s consider copycats. Surely other makers will give their own interpretations of the SCPL. Maybe they’ll even be inspired by the strategy of growth lockdown. *source: http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:y8uc-ED4pW8J:newpaper.asia1.com.sg/tech/story/0,4136,102163,00.html+scpl+genocide&hl=tl&gl=ph&ct=clnk&cd=1 **source: http://72.14.207.104/search?q=cache:qs5ne_sjjzEJ:www.accessorygeeks.blogspot.com/+scpl+%2217+million%22&hl=tl&gl=ph&ct=clnk&cd=3 [2006-02-25 11:46:19] IP: 202.73.X.X - SCPL SPECULATION I just saw the Motorola C650 being sold for P2,590. That's about fifty dollars. And It's a camera phone. So maybe Motorola must be really serious when they say they want to connect the next billion. And to jumpstart it, when they release the SCPL, it's going to be the same price with the same specs as the Motorola C650. Which means the SCPL is going to have a camera, a colored screen, quadband and a slim form factor. Wow. Maybe by July 2006, when phase 3 of the emerging market handset program starts, and the GSM Association no longer works on the phase 3 supply, and every vendor is now free to participate in the program, maybe that's when the SCPL will be released. Of course, 40 bucks is the wholesale price. So maybe fifty bucks for an impossibly thin, monochrome SCPL? That's gotta be awesome. [2006-02-22 12:23:56] IP: 202.73.X.X - MY DRAWING OF A MOTOROLA SCPL I drew my concept design for the SCPL ^_^ Wanna see? http://home.comcast.net/~pvpr2/scplconcept.jpg [2006-02-21 21:13:15] IP: 202.73.X.X SCPL I was reading the Barcelona 3GSM articles, and I read that Moto had a SCPL model up it's sleeve. So I did a bit of searching. What I found is promising: forty bucks for scalpel! That's gotta be awesome. Well, hopefully it stays aggresively priced. My guess is the SCPL will be the size of the keypad part of the RAZR without the screen. So maybe since it's going to be half of a RAZR, then the price will also be half ?:) ~supporting link here: http://64.233.179.104/search?q=cache:t7NZC6RVxrEJ:chicagobusiness.com/cgi-bin/news.pl%3Fid%3D17004+nokia+razr+analyst&hl=tl&gl=ph&ct=clnk&cd=20 yeah I know the article is kinda 2005-ish Also, I didn't want to post this before, but I do now because, what the heck, it's fun! I was browsing the completed auctions in eBay, and I went to a seller's website. I found clones! Well, the first time I went there, they only had a SLVR imitation. But now, they also have a RAZR Z :) That's gotta be cool. There's even live pics! ~this is what I'm talking about: http://www.worldexonline.com/index.cfm?id=589232&fuseaction=browse&pageid=63 [2006-02-16 13:27:47] IP: 210.16.X.X - Liquid_Blue's Music Journal Are you in touch with the latest music?
