"Why just make records?" Will.I.Am asked during a surprisingly philosophical conversation backstage at a Black Eyed Peas concert.

Around the same time, 50 Cent released a bonus version of The Massacre with accompanying videos for all of its tracks. "Usually an artist can envision what he's writing about, but the general public never gets to see what he was thinking," 50 said. "I feel like [the videos] do that to my album, explain it more in-depth."

"It seems like everyone you know is trying to be a video-maker, so we just call up all our friends, and we're like, 'If you wanna make a video, let's do it,' " Bravery singer Sam Endicott explained. "So we have videos for most of the songs on the album at this point, and ideally we make a video for every song and eventually put that out."

"The best thing about it is you're no longer making videos just for singles," said Fred Durst, who released an online video for an album track called "The Truth" last year that he has since expanded into a short film (see "Durst Unveils 'The Truth' And It's Rage Against The Bizkit"). "You can make them for songs that deserve videos, and fans can still see 'em."

Breakdown Conspiracy reports that according to LP Fuse the new Linkin Park album will be released early 2007, this was revealed in an interview with Mike and Anna Shinoda on KROQ, details here,...

'We were shooting for the end of this year, I think it's gonna be towards the beginning of next year actually. We're just being really careful with what we're doing and were having a type of fun in the studio. It's probably the most fun record that i've ever done; I'm having the most fun on this Linkin Park record that I've ever had in the studio. The Fort Minor record was fun and the Linkin Park records were a lot of fun, but we're just trying out things that... I don't even know what genre to put it in. I don't even know what to call it."

This is a massive disapointment for fans, but in the long run it can only mean that more time is being spent in making sure that this album will be great for the fans...........

Re: the new album
i don't know yet. we're still working on it. we have narrowed it down to about 30-50 songs, and some of those are heavy, some are softer, and some are in between. origianlly, we thought we'd have an album out at the end of this year, but at this point we don't see that happening. we're doing really well, but we just need a little more time.

i don't know how soon...that's why we thought we'd play the new song live, to give you a little insight into how things are going. it will sound familiar, and you will recognize it as LP; but so far it has a different sound that i cannot describe. it sounds like it's older, but not vintage. more organic in some spots, like just yesterday we recorded a song with no samples that is completely raw. other songs are full of samples.

lots of variety at this point--but we don't know which songs will make the final album. this is the most fun i have ever had recording an LP album. it's been great. rick rubin is a great coach--he just keeps us pointed in the right direction, and we push as hard as we can. our music taste (LP and rick) are so eclectic, it's fun to work together.

the song known as "qwerty" -- a rough title BTW -- is actually still in progress. we did those lyrics on the plane on the way to japan! i'm not sure if it'll make the album, but we liked the song enough to play it!

Re: Collaborations
on the next album - collaborations? we don't really ever do collabos on our proper studio albums, and i think we're going to stick to that for now. we don't have any plans to work with other artists at this point.

Re: Ballads
i thought "easier to run" might have been a power ballad. but not that we have any intention of making one--that's just what the song decided to be. but if you mean power ballad like whitesnake / poison / LA guns / boston, then maybe we're not ready for that yet.

What I am going to type right now is entirely true and I believe and hope that people who are going to read this will learn or at least know something about it. My topic of today and for the rest of the week or month before I post another blog is about HONOR KILLINGS OF WOMEN IN PAKISTAN.

What is Honor Killing?

It is the killing of a female, and sometimes her love-interests and other associates , for supposed sexual or marital offenses, typically by her own relatives, with the justification being that the "offense" has brought "dishonor" to the family. This practice is especially strongly condemned by many Western cultures for being a double standard and sexist, because males will not be killed for such an "offense"; i.e. if a man rapes a woman, it is the woman who "brings dishonor" to her family and not the rapist.

In societies and cultures where it occurs, honor killing is often regarded as a private matter for the affected family alone; rarely do non-family members or the courts become involved or prosecute the perpetrators. The United Nations Population Fund estimates that the annual worldwide total of honor killing victims may be as high as 5, 000 women.

In Pakistan, men who killed their wife/wives out of inheritance, money or etc., use this("Honor Killing") as an excuse to escape the authorities. In a country where men have more rights than women, it is very difficult for women to claim justice.

Why the killing?

The killing of people for sexual crimes has been known since the times of Ancient Babylon (1700 BCE). The Codes of Hammurabi and Assura (some of the earliest sets of laws discovered), focus on the perception that a woman’s virginity belongs to her family. In Peru from 1200 BCE - 1532 CE, alleged adulterers were punished by having their hands and feet tied to a wall and being left to starve to death. A man was allowed to kill his wife if he caught or suspected her of having an extra-marital affair, while if a woman caught or suspected her husband of doing the same thing and killed him, she was given the death penalty.

LINKIN PARK Has 'Over 100' Song Ideas For New Album//////////////////

Launch Radio Networks reports: LINKIN PARK has over 100 rough song ideas in the works for its third full-length studio album, according to Billboard.com. Band MC Mike Shinoda said that the group continues to work on even more new material despite the wealth of songs it has now, explaining, "When songs are pouring out you don't ever want to stop that. We already have over 100 roughs for songs. We've narrowed it down since but we're not ready to commit to those yet. I can't really speak much about the style of the record but it's probably the most fun I've had recording a LINKIN PARK album."

Although the band initially announced that the album would be ready by the end of 2006, its release has now been pushed into 2007.

The new album will follow up 2003's multi-platinum "Meteora".

LINKIN PARK is working on the disc with superstar producer Rick Rubin, whom Shinoda called "a legend."

well, the michael jordan of f1 racing will retire says it yeaterday at the press conferrence after the italian GP. The racer was also the first places in that said GP. Fernando Alonso was at his bad luck streak as his gap on schumi for the drivers championship was closing to 2 points as a result of an engine blowout of his RS26 on the last 10 lap of the GP. I may say that this Season will be interested to watch as Schumi will or will he outrun the Spaniard racer.

CHESTER ON NEW LP ALBUM........

We're going for the music that inspired us, rather than the nü-metal type of sound," frontman Chester Bennington said of the band's third studio album, due next year. "We're ripping that out. It's completely gone." In its place is a mix of punk and classic-rock elements with vintage hip-hop beats, the singer said.

"We've always been known for mixing a lot of different genres of music and not pigeonholing ourselves in one particular sound, but by doing so, we've kind of pigeonholed ourselves into our sound," Bennington said backstage at Saturday's Inland Invasion. "It sounds strange, but there's a common thread that people are going to expect, and we're trying to pull that out of the new music."

Linkin Park's reinvention is being guided by Rick Rubin, who is co-producing with Mike Shinoda. "We're straying away from a lot of the predictable sounds we've had in the past, but there's no question in your mind when you hear it that it's Linkin Park," Bennington said. "We've always said we write the music we write so that we can spread our wings as far as we want and try new things and go anywhere. I think we're really going to prove that with this new record."

Linkin Park wrote more than 100 songs, which they have since narrowed down to the cream of the crop. Bennington refused to elaborate on how many tracks will be recorded, but he shot down the idea of a double album. "The whole double-album thing is like the kiss of death," he said. "Not that it's not a great idea in theory, but when you put it out, it's just not."

The band has more or less decided on a title, but Bennington kept it under wraps. "It's a title I think is good and fitting for the world and also some of our own personal situations over the last couple of years," he said. While recording with Linkin Park, Bennington has set aside his solo album, but the singer said it's basically good to go.

We wrote in new ways, and used instruments and equipment we hadn't experimented with before, from vintage guitars and amps to mellotron to Rick's original 808 drum machine he used on the Beastie Boys' first record. We tried to question every step in our songwriting process." Producer Rick Rubin agrees: "They really are reinventing themselves, it doesn't sound like rap-rock. There's very strong songwriting. It's very melodic... a progressive record."

The coming weeks will see the launch of LPTV, a series of webisodes that can be viewed on www.linkinpark.com. The series will focus on "unseen footage of the history of Linkin Park, building up to an inside look at the studio experience of the new album," says Farrell. Linkin Park will headline the second day of this summer's Bamboozle music festival on May 6 in New Jersey before embarking on a headlining European tour in June. SEPANG: Screaming fans, enthusiastic TV crews and flashing cameras greeted Linkin Park singer Chester Bennington when he arrived in Kuala Lumpur yesterday to promote the band’s forthcoming new album.

Bennington was all smiles as he made his way through the throng of fans and media representatives waiting for him at the KLIA arrival hall. He stopped briefly to pose for pictures with a number of lucky fans, some of whom had driven from as far away as Malacca to give him a typical warm Malaysian welcome, before being whisked away by his entourage.

The vocalist is in town to attend an exclusive media pre-listening session of the band’s soon-to-be released third album Minutes To Midnight, as well as an album pre-sale booking at Tower Records, KLCC, at 4pm today.

The album is scheduled for release on May 15. Linkin Park has chosen Malaysia as the country to premiere tracks from the eagerly awaited album.

After four long years, all questions about Linkin Park’s third album, Minutes To Midnight, were answered yesterday.

With the band’s vocalist, Chester Bennington present, the 13-song album was ‘premiered’ to selected media from Malaysia, Singapore, Hong Kong, Taiwan, Thailand and Indonesia at a special media listening session at Le Meridian Hotel, Kuala Lumpur. Judging from what the Press corps heard yesterday, it looked like the biggest rock group this decade had scored another winner with this album.

Produced by the group’s resident rapper Mike Shinoda and legendary rock producer Rick Rubin, Minutes To Midnight is stamped with the band’s explosive rock and rap hybrid, albeit with stronger humanitarian messages and daring experimentation with sound. This includes the use of diverse range of instruments like vintage guitars, amps, mellotron as well as the 808-drum machine that was used in one of the Beastie Boys’ records. Rhythmically, the album could also be the band’s most melodic and harmony-heavy work to date, thanks to Shinoda who did more singing than rapping this time around.

The first song that was played yesterday was the haunting instrumental piece called Waste, followed by a Linkin Park signature tune — a groovy, riffheavy rocker, Given Up.

Bleed It Out starts off with the sound of people talking and then closing doors, before Shinoda comes in.

The first surprise came in Shadow of the Day, a beautiful, almost ballad-like number that has Bennington’s most emotive and soulful vocal delivery to date.

A negative review of What I've Done from Newsday

SONG OF THE WEEK. Considering how much goodwill Linkin Park racked up in recent years, with their collabos with Jay-Z and their knack for inserting interesting snippets - a techno swirl here, a hip-hop groove there - into their workmanlike, broad-shouldered, hook-heavy rock, "What I've Done" (Warner Bros./Machine Shop) plays it way too safe. There's no deviation from the well-worn formula of turned-up guitars, angst-ridden lyrics and Chester Bennington's yearning yowls - no Mike Shinoda rap, no intricate rhythms.

It's as straightforward as they get and even more predictable, made even more ordinary now that armies of copycats seeking a slice of Linkin Park's sales have diluted the band's style further.

They will need more than this to persuade people to buy the upcoming "Minutes to Midnight" album rather than screaming along to "Hybrid Theory" again.

Linkin Park's new midtempo rocker "What I've Done" may sound familiar when you hear it blaring from radios. The track, which hit multiple rock formats April 2, boasts the empassioned singing and thick wall of guitars that marked the group's past hits. But an awful lot has changed since the last time Linkin Park graced the airwaves.

Indeed, it has been four years since "Meteora" dominated Billboard's Modern Rock chart. The 5 million-selling monster's track list now reads like an Idiot's Guide to Programming a Rock Radio Station, with such No. 1s as "Somewhere I Belong," "Faint," "Numb," "Lying From You" and "Breaking the Habit." Meanwhile, the band's debut, "Hybrid Theory," has sold more than 9 million copies in the United States since its 2000 release, according to Nielsen SoundScan.

“He told us right from the beginning: ‘whatever you think your fans like to hear, whatever music you think you need to make, just forget about it. Whatever limitations you think you have, just put it out to rest and throw it out the window because none of it matters. What matters is making music that you are excited about regardless of style, a particular sound or anything like that.’ He really encouraged us to stay on that path throughout making the album because it was easy for us to fall back to our old patterns and old ways of making music.”

“There was definitely not as much pressure doing this album as there was when we did Meteora, because Hybrid Theory was such a huge success when nobody had heard of us before, you know? We were getting pressure from everyone – from the fans to the record label – and we really felt that we had to prove to everyone that Hybrid Theory wasn’t a fluke.
When we did Minutes to Midnight, we’d already done Reanimation, Meteora, Live in TexasCollision Course. Including Hybrid Theory, everything that we’ve done has established us in the minds of our fans and the record label. So we really had a lot of freedom to experiment with our sound. It has been 4 long years since Linkin Park's second studio album Meteora. Some things have changed, but the primary component that makes this undoubtedly Linkin Park is the raw, emotional approach to the music. "What I've Done" is a bracing song and a fine introduction to the sound of the upcoming Minutes to Midnight collection. The powerful, melodic vocals of Chester Bennington take center stage. He sings of a somewhat uncertain farewell to the past which the band claims is, at least in part, commentary on the band's new sound. The sound of "What I've Done" is the band stepping forward with confidence as a lean, ferocious rock band.
"What I've Done" seems to indicate that Linkin Park's work with producer Rick Rubin has borne fruit on the upcoming album similar to Rubin's work with other leading lights in the music industry. Just like on Rubin's work on landmark albums by Johnny Cash and Neil Diamond, it sounds like Linkin Park's music has been stripped down to its raw, beating heart. That type of approach could result in an album just as key to the year 2007 as the Rubin-produced Stadium Arcadium by the Red Hot Chili Peppers was to 2006.

1. Wake
To begin their long awaited album, Linkin Park choose to gently set the wheels in motion rather than forcefully kick-starting lively music which fans have come to expect. Instead, they present a slow, short intro track with a synth-heavy melody and a nice building ambiance, which gradually increases in volume. 4/5

2. Given Up
The smoothness is soon thrown out the window however when the scratchy turntable sound of this second track transforms into a gargantuan heavy rock riff. This is possibly the most in-your-face song on the entire record – the punk rock style drumbeats are brash, the guitars thrash and Chester Bennington sings his lungs out. When it reaches the bridge, he goes from singing to screaming the line, “You put me out of my misery” over and over again. It’s heated, emotional and enjoyable, but the track definitely feels like it’s missing a certain something. 3/5

3. Leave Out All The Rest
From one extreme to another, three tracks in and we’re presented with a ballad. It’s very listenable pop rock with tranquil vocals and dominant bass guitar. It seems odd to position such a slow-paced tune so early into the album but it’s radio friendly style is bound to be popular with many. The piece of music does end rather abruptly though and you may be left wanting more. 3/5

4. Bleed It Out
This is much more like the Linkin Park we’re used to hearing. Mike Shinoda starts off with a casual rap before trading off with Chester and some insightful lyrics, “I bring it out, bring it in deeper just to throw it away.” The song’s structure revolves around four simple chords with screaming vocals leading up to the catchy chorus. Piano adds an extra dimension to the track but overall it’s a little repetitive and flat, ending abruptly again. Saying that, we can see this being released as a successful single in the future. 4/5

we heard today that the album leaked...so i guess some of you have had a chance to hear what we've been so excited about. we're both excited and disappionted that you're hearing it right now. here's why:

it couldn't be more exciting to give you all new music, especially after all the hard work we put into it. this album was almost a year and a half of experiments, mistakes, inspiration, and careful craftsmanship. we put everything we had into these songs, and want you to hear every second of it. i can't wait for you to absorb all the levels of meaning in the songs, and the layers of music, eventually forming your own ideas about what the songs mean to you.

at the same time, a leak leaves out some very important parts of this piece of work. we put months of creative energy into the ART of the record, in the booklet, special edition, and big book...almost as long as it took to record hybrid theory. the album has amazing photos, lyrics, and notes about how the songs came together--it's the visual half of the record. on the other hand, the super-special-edition book is packed with exclusive images, stories of the making of the songs, gorgeous art, the CD and a DVD that tells the story, showing the actual moments of inspiration caught on camera. for me, it's almost hard to imagine anyone really experiencing this album without that part of it.

even the song sequence alone is very important. it's WAY different to hear the songs in a random order than to listen to this record from beginning to end. at the very least, if you've already downloaded the songs, do us a huge favor and listen to them in the right order...it'll be way more rewarding

...that's all we wanted to say. if any of you want to be patient and hold off on downloading the album, and get the proper experience by checking out the actual piece in your hands, we applaud you for your restraint! and to everyone else who can't wait: we can't help but understand, because we're just as excited about this album coming out as you are. either way, thanks for listening, and being a fan of our music.

Linkin Park confirmed today the fourth installment of Projekt Revolution beginning July 25th and culminating on September 3 in Denver at the Coors Amphitheatre. My Chemical Romance and Taking Back Sunday will join LP on the tour, which kicks off July 25 in a city to be announced later this month. The sole props of the Linkin Park headlining set at The Bamboozle festival are some simple 2-foot-high steps placed across the stage.

When singer Chester Bennington has a particularly important point to make, he steps on top of one, rages for a bit, and then steps down. Rapper-keyboardist Mike Shinoda uses them to punctuate certain musical moments as well. Same goes for guitarist Brad Delson and bassist Dave "Phoenix" Farrell. (For the record, DJ Joseph Hahn and drummer Rob Bourdon are always on their separate, elevated platforms; such are the perks of keeping the beat in this band.)

They all take turns, stepping up, enjoying their time in the spotlight, and then stepping down. It's a lot like the way Linkin Park operates as a band.

Starting from scratch

By all measures, Linkin Park is a massive success. The Grammy-winning sextet has sold 40 million albums since debuting in 2000, with its "Hybrid Theory" (Warner Bros.) already certified at diamond status for selling 10 million copies in the United States. "Meteora," its follow-up in 2003, placed six singles onto the modern-rock charts, including five No. 1s, notably "Somewhere I Belong," "Numb" and "Faint."

Hopes are just as high for the band's latest album, "Minutes to Midnight" (Machine Shop/ Warner Bros.) as it hits stores today, especially after all the interest in the single "What I've Done," which moved to No. 1 on the modern-rock charts in its first day of release last month and hasn't left the top spot since.

No American rock act is as passively precocious as Linkin Park. The chagrin and hunger stirred up by the purposeful SoCal rap-rock wunderkinds has no contemporary peer, except perhaps by Kelly Clarkson.
But it certainly aids the construction of hype, and Linkin Park's third studio CD is easily the year's most anticipated modern rock release. However, the band did warn us that its new material would trumpet a reconstituted Linkin Park.
Sure enough, Minutes to Midnight has about as much in common with Hybrid Theory and Meteora as Peter Gabriel's So does with early Genesis. It's highly refined, mellow and cerebral, and structurally glossy, with as many silken songwriting turns as strident ones.
Linkin Park predictably de-emphasized both vocalist/MC Mike Shinoda's rapping and turntablist Joseph Hahn's sampling, effectively reassigning each to multi-instrumentalist (Mr. Shinoda) and rhythm generator-artist (Mr. Hahn). Most of Minutes to Midnight's songs lose crunch and vitality because of it, though in return they gain civility, identity and finesse.
Only two tracks truly rock: the hand clap-paced screamo exercise "Given Up" and the Fear Factory-like chugger "No More Sorrow." Others recall a Motown-bred AC/DC ("Bleed It Out"), the Fray ("In Between," on which Mr. Shinoda sings and Mr. Hahn outputs a sweet crinkled-paper beat) and U2 ("Shadow of the Day"). The standouts defy such trite pigeonholing. "What I've Done" is a snappy and grand first single; "Hands Held High" combines gospel and rap with political ire; and the lavish harmony-layered "The Little Things Give You Away" closes the disc with uncharacteristic grace.

Rap metal is dead. Linkin Park are not, because they were always more than the meager sum of that combination -- more pop and classic rock in their riffs, hooks and drive, even on Collision Course, their 2004 mash-up with Jay-Z. On Minutes to Midnight, co-produced by Rick Rubin, Linkin Park are more of something else -- topical -- and furiously good at it. In the last song, "The Little Things Give You Away," the band coolly torpedoes George W. Bush's petty, disastrous arrogance on Iraq and New Orleans (for starters), building from acoustic strum and soft-shoe electronics to magisterial Seventies-arena guitar and lacerating disgust. "All you've ever wanted was someone to truly look up to you," Chester Bennington sings. "And six feet underwater/I do."

That's not all. Bennington is not going over old-girlfriend ground when he promises, "Your time is borrowed," in the hammering thrash of "No More Sorrow." And Mike Shinoda's state-of-disbelief rap "Hands Held High" comes with military-funeral drums and an "amen" chorus. This would be as much fun as a filibuster if Linkin Park did not pay equal attention to the punch and detail in the gritty stomp "Bleed It Out" and the balled-fist guilt of "What I've Done." "Shadow of the Day" is a too-literal echo of Joshua Tree-era U2, but most of Minutes is honed, metallic pop with a hip-hop stride and a wake-up kick. "What the fuck is wrong with me?" Bennington barks over the jingle bells and distortion in "Given Up." The answer all over this record: nothing that getting off your ass can't fix.

There were new entries at No. 1 on both the U.K. singles and album charts published yesterday (May 20). "Umbrella" (Def Jam) by Rihanna featuring Jay-Z went straight to the top of the singles survey, while Britain's new best-selling album is "Minutes to Midnight" Linkin Park's album repeats the No. 1 debut of its 2003 predecessor "Meteora" and leads a trio of new entries at the top of the U.K. chart. Rufus Wainwright debuted at No. 2 with "Release the Stars" (Geffen) and Funeral For A Friend opened at No. 3 with "Tales Don't Tell Themselves" (Atlantic).

Arctic Monkeys' three-week run at the top with "Favorite Worst Nightmare" (Domino) ended with a fall to No. 4, while Joe Cocker made his best U.K. chart showing in 13 years as "Hymn for My Soul" (EMI) debuted at No. 9. That equals the veteran vocalist's best-ever ranking for a new studio set in his home country, when "Have a Little Faith" reached No. 9 in 1994.

On Billboard's pan-European charts, Michael Buble is in his second week at the helm of European Top 100 Albums chart with "Call Me Irresponsible" (Reprise). On the Eurochart Hot 100 Singles survey, "Beautiful Liar" (World Music/Columbia) by Beyonce & Shakira is in a third week at No. 1.

Linkin Park's "Minutes to Midnight" crashes in at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 in a big way this week, its 623,000 copies the highest first-week total of 2007, according to Nielsen SoundScan. It's the biggest debut week number since Jay-Z's "Kingdome Come" moved 680,000 last December; only five other titles have moved more than 600,000 in a week in the past two years. Linkin Park's last album, 2003's "Meteora," began at No. 1 on The Billboard 200 with 810,000. R&B singer Tank rolls in at No. 2 with his third Good Game/Blackground album "Sex, Love & Pain," selling 103,000 units, a sales and charting best for the artist. His last album, "One Man," debuted and peaked at No. 20 in 2002 with 58,000, while his 2001 debut "Force of Nature," opened at No. 7 with 98,000. His current single, "Please Don't Go," is a top-three hit on the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart and is still rising on the Hot 100. After topping the chart last week, Michael Buble's 143/Reprise set "Call Me Irresponsible" slips to No. 3 with 88,000, a 39% sales slide. Wilco earns its biggest charting and sales week yet, as "Sky Blue Sky" (Nonesuch) bows at No. 4 with 87,000 copies. It's the Chicago-based rock group's second top 10 album and surpasses the No. 8 entry that greeted 2004's "A Ghost Is Born," which sold 81,000. Nearly a quarter of its sales this week were snapped up via digital retailers. Country singer Gretchen Wilson is three for three in the top five on the char,t as her third effort "One of the Boys" jumps on at No. 5. The Columbia set moved 73,000 copies, short of the 227,000 that greeted 2004's "Here for the Party" and the 264,000 for 2005's "All Jacked Up." "One of the Boys" also tops the Hot Country Albums tally, her third No. 1 on that chart. Avril Lavigne's "The Best Damn Thing" (RCA) falls 5-6 after a 21% decrease to 56,000, while Ne-Yo's Def Jam album "Because of You" descends 4-7 with 55,000, a 39% drop. Veteran metal troupe Megadeth scores its first top 10 album in 13 years, as "United Abominations" (Roadrunner) debuts at No. 8 with 54,000. The group's 1994 set "Youthanasia" debuted and peaked at No. 4. This week is also tge best sales week for the band since "The World Needs a Hero" began with 61,000 at No. 16 in 2001.

Bennington, lead singer of the Grammy award–winning band Linkin Park, is launching Ve’cel, a premium men’s T-shirt and hoodie line steeped in political and religious imagery, amped with violence and sexed up with scantily clad ladies. Or, for the gent who prefers something a little more innocuous, the line also features plenty of minimalist, logo-driven pieces—some with only the faintest silhouette of automatic weapons.
The line’s holiday 2007 and spring 2008 collection will be unveiled at Project in Las Vegas next month, with outerwear, denim and accessories planned for future seasons.
Ve’cel isn’t the first foray into fashion for Bennington, 31. In 2001, he launched a men’s wear and accessories line for Club Tattoo, a Tempe, Ariz., ink-and-piercing studio that he started in 1995 with former bandmate Sean Dowdell and Dowdell’s wife, Thora. “For Ve’cel, I wanted to bring the tattoo world into something more music-driven ... but also something that everyone isn’t wearing,” the lanky-but-tat-heavy Bennington told DNR on the set of Linkin Park’s latest video, “Bleed it Out.” “A lot of people’s designs in this market are just skulls and wings.”
Anchored in a black, white and gray color palette, Bennington’s T-shirt designs feature varying degrees of treatment. Foil metallic prints, antique finishes and potassium sprays, contrast stitching and multiple studs grace the collection’s edgier pieces, which come in 100 percent cotton or 50/50 blends of cotton/polyester. Each is emblazoned with the brand’s slogan, “Aeternum Vale,” Latin for “Farewell Forever.”

Alex Pardee who is a friend of Mr. Hahn visited the Bleed It Out video shoot and he has posted what he saw on his blog and there's a picture too.

"I got to go check out my friend Mr. Hahn's new video shoot for Linkin Park last week. He directed a ridiculously crazy fight scene in a bar that is made up of 100 people, or 8 people, or 8 people that are computer-composited to look like 100 different people, or maybe everyone was holograms. I dont know. I was told to wear special glasses to protect my eyes the entire time, but perhaps those special glasses protected me from seeing holographic people doing karate in reverse. Either way, the video is going to look insane, and Hahn used a huge Milo crane (i think they called it that because it was invented for that Milo n Otis movie with the fiesty dog and the stuck up cat). The camera was a gigantic robot that ran by itself along a track, and they also referred to as the Genesis, which i thought was odd for something so state of the art, as it was surely more powerful than 16 bits. Either way, heres a blurry picture of the band in front of a giant green screen so Mr Hahn can composite BADASS MOUNTAINS or something so it looks like the band is FLOATING ABOVE MOUNTAINS!!! ummm....he's not doing that. but he should."
