Liverpool beat West Brom 2-0 at the Hawthornes on Saturday, April 1. Robbie Fowler opened the scoring in the 7th minute. Djibril Cisse scored the second goal in the 38th minute. The good news for Liverpool is that Tottenham Hotspurs lost 3-1 to Newcastle. Liverpool is now in third place 12 points clear of Spurs, having played a game more than the London club.

This is a plea to Rafael Benitez. Please give Robbie Fowler a new contract! He's a Kop legend and a proven goalscorer and he's getting back to full fitness. He will play his heart and legs out for Liverpool. i am confident he'll do well for the club for another 2 seasons. We all love Fowler so please please please!

Somebody posted a comment saying that Liverpool never wins anything. That's insane! Liverpool has won more trophies than any other British club. That's a fact. Obviously this person knows nothing about football. For the ignorant, here is the Liverpool FC Trophy Cabinet:

Manchester United has won 15 league championships, followed by Arsenal with 13. Everton is in 4th with 9 league championships followed by Aston Villa with 7. Chelsea is far behind with only 2. Only Real Madrid (9 times) and AC Milan (6) have won more European Cups.

Liverpool 1-0 Bolton

It wasn't a classic Liverpool performance but the Reds did just about enough to earn a 1-0 win, thanks to a Robbie Fowler goal seconds before the half-time whistle. Bolton could've scored a goal or two in the first half themselves. The second half was evenly contested with both sides coming close to scoring. Liverpool held on nervously and it was a relief when the final whistle was blown.

Blackburn Rovers 0 - 1 Liverpool

Livepool scored a controversial goal in the 29th minute to win the game 1-0 against a good Blackburn side. From a long throw-in, Robbie Fowler chested the ball into the path of Cisse who was in an offside position. Cisse raised his leg but then pulled out and raised his arms to indicate that he wasn't going to play it and hence not interferring with play. Morientes took the ball and cut it back to Fowler who made no mistake in the penalty box.

Although I'm a die-hard Liverpool fan, I must admit that we were lucky that the goal was given. Cisse was clearly offside and by raising his leg, it meant that he was in active play. Anyway, it was the referee's decision and you win some, you lose some. Liverpool's defence was rock solid and looked comfortable. With this win, Liverpool are confirmed of a place in next season's Champions League.

Team in full: Reina, Finnan, Warnock, Hyypia, Carragher, Sissoko, Alonso, Riise, Cisse, Fowler, Morientes.

Big weekend for Liverpool is happend this week. Liverpool my favorite team will play against Chelsea in the FA Cup Semi final. hope Liverpool win and go to the finals n win the FA cup trophy for the season. Liverpool are through to the FA Cup final! An incredible win! John Arne Riise scored in the first half from a free kick. And then Luis Garcia scored a fantastic goal in the second half to make it 2-0. Drogba pulled one back for Chelsea, who only started to play and look dangerous in the last 30 minutes. Stevie G and Momo Sissoko were injured near the end of the game but stayed on and helped Liverpool to cling on. We beat the blues! WOOHOO!

Steven Gerrard Named PFA Player Of The Year

From soccernet.com - Liverpool captain Steven Gerrard admitted he felt a great sense of humility after being named the Professional Footballers' Association Player of the Year at a gala dinner in London.

The 25-year-old England midfielder topped the poll as voted for by his colleagues ahead of the other five leading candidates - Arsenal striker Thierry Henry, Manchester United's Wayne Rooney and Chelsea trio Joe Cole, Frank Lampard and John Terry, last year's winner.

Rooney, still only 20, picked up the young player trophy for the second time.

Gerrard had been third in last season's vote, and went on to guide the Reds to a famous Champions League final victory on penalties over AC Milan in Istanbul.

While Liverpool may not have hit the same heights in Europe during the current campaign, Rafael Benitez's men have climbed up the Premiership table to third place and yesterday knocked Chelsea out of the FA Cup to reach the final in Cardiff next month.

Gerrard, though, felt any of tonight's nominees would have been a worthy winner.

He declared: 'I am still in shock to be honest. If you look at the shortlist, there are five other guys who have so much talent. They are all special players.

"And then there are also the guys who have not made the shortlist - there are so many players who could have won this award."

Henry collected the accolade in both 2003 and 2004, while other previous winners also include former England captain Gary Lineker, current Blackburn boss Mark Hughes and recently retired Newcastle striker Alan Shearer.

Gerrard - who scooped the 2001 PFA young player award - reflected: "I looked at the list of past winners and there are some fantastic names on there - some legends, so I am really proud to have joined them, it is really special."

The Liverpool skipper added: "It has been one of the best weekends of my life. To go through to another FA Cup final and win this special award is fantastic for me."

West ham 1-2 Liverpool

Hayden Mullins and Luis Garcia are almost certain to miss the FA Cup final after both players were sent off for violent conduct nine minutes from time in Liverpool's Premiership victory over West Ham.

Semi-final winner Garcia had only been on the field for two minutes when he tangled with Mullins in a tackle. Mullins pushed the Spaniard to the floor, with both players raising their hands, and referee Howard Webb showed both players a straight red card.

A dismissal for violent conduct carries an automatic three-match suspension which both players who complete when the two sides meet again in Cardiff on May 13.

It is a more serious blow for West Ham than Liverpool. Mullins has been an unsung hero alongside Nigel Reo-Coker at the heart of the Hammers midfield this season.

Liverpool won the game, a dress rehearsal for next month's Cardiff final, with two expertly-taken goals from Djibril Cisse either side of Reo-Coker's equaliser.

Liverpool go on level points with Man U with this 3-1 win over a poor Aston Villa side on the day Chelsea clinched the Premiereship title with an emphatic 3-0 win over Man U and the relegation teams were settled. Traore started but had a horrid game. Hyypia wasn't at his best at all. Morientes did well to score a good goal in the 5th minute. Then Liverpool went to sleep. It was only after Aston Villa equalised in the 2nd half that Liverpool woke up and stepped up a gear. Stevie G scored a good goal from Alonso's corner. Six minutes later, he scored a fantastic goal from way outside the box. Liverpool were in control from then. Portsmouth win meant that Villa stay in the Premiereship. Birmingham, West Brom and Sunderland are relegated.

The Season In Review

What a way to end the season. Liverpool ended the Premiereship season by beating Portsmouth 3-1 away. Then it was the amazing FA Cup final on Saturday. Tied at 3-3, with Stevie G scoring a fantastic goal in the last minute of normal time, the game went into penalties after extra-time produced no further goals. Liverpool came out victorious in the shootout by 3-1. It was a incredible finale to a wonderful season. Liverpool are improving all the time. Next season, I'm sure we will push Chelsea all the way for the title.

Liverpool Keen To Sign Craig Bellamy

Liverpool have been given permission to talk to Blackburn Rovers' striker Craig Bellamy! Manager Rafa Benitez will meet with Bellamy this week to talk over a possible transfer after the two clubs agreed a fee for the striker.

Benitez admits Bellamy possesses all the qualities he is looking for in a footballer and he's hoping the two strike up a good relationship when they meet over the coming days.

"We have an agreement which allows us to talk to the player," Benitez said.

"He is on holiday, but we will talk over the next few days. I know the player's qualities very well. He is a very good footballer and now we need to see if he has the passion to play for our club.

"I don't think this will be a problem because he is a Liverpool fan, so I think it will be easy for him.

"I will be talking to him to express my ideas. He has the ability, the pace and the talent we've been looking for and now we need to talk about other things."

Liverpool legendary goalscorer Ian Rush insisted Craig Bellamy will be a hit at Anfield if the Reds sign the Welsh striker.

"I'm delighted to hear Liverpool are interested in signing Craig," said Rush.

He added: "Every time I've met Craig when he was playing for other clubs, he'd come up to me, shake my hand and tell me I was his hero as a lad because he was a massive Liverpool supporter.

"So if he says he's joining the club he supports if he signs, I know he means it."

Champions League Cup Final

I'm very excited and looking forward to the Champions League Cup Final against AC Milan next Thursday morning. Two years ago, it was an amazing final against AC Milan when we came back from 3-0 at halftime to make it 3-3 in the second half. Of cos, we won the penalthy shoot-out in the historical final.

AC Milan would want revenge and they're an excellent side with Kaka and Gattuso such incredible players. But Liverpool are a strong team too and I believe if we play to our very best, we can beat AC Milan.

Come on you Reds!
