Along with the many veterans benefits granted by the Department of Veterans Affairs is an assistance program for homeless veterans. The aim of this program is to support and give a better place to our homeless veterans as they deserve it.
According to the statistics, roughly 200,000 veterans don't have decent homes. The causes of this fact are scarcity and lack of support from their families and friends. The Veterans Affairs (VA) Department is the only federal branch that gives proactive support to homeless personnel who have served in the military. They have already granted more than four hundred (400) grants to public and non-profit organizations to help homeless veterans in 50 states as well as the District of Columbia.
Other programs for homeless veterans are as follows: - VA's Health Care for Homeless Veterans Program (HCHV) - VA's Domiciliary Care for Homeless Veterans (DCHV) Program - Veterans Benefits Assistance at VA Regional Offices - Acquired Property Sales for Homeless Providers Program - Readjustment Counseling Service's Vet Centers
