Once again this is another long overdue entry but what can i say? this lil girl's been keeping crazy busy (check my other blog for that update!!!) ANYYYYWAYYY

JUSTIN YOUNG. Those of you in Asia who recently caught Colbie Caillat's showcases in Singapore or Malaysia, etc., will recognize him as a familiar face- he plays guitar for her and sings back up right now... HOWEVER many of you dont know that he has his own thing goin on too! Yup that's right Mr Justin Young has a whole other solo project and the album that he recently released isn't his first- nope nope he's been singing, songwriting, and playing the guitar for a while now... in fact i first heard his stuff way back when i was in high school ;) been loving his vibe ever since SO now i'm passing it on to you :)

oh and btw, i got the chance to jam with him and mike (colbie's drummer) at a small club in singapore- they did their thing on the instruments and i was on the ones & twos and let me just say... Justin Young sure can break it down on the hip hop jams... he did this twist of a few classic hiphop tracks (like seed 2.0 by the Roots) but with a laid back lovers rock reggae acoustic type vibe that was good enough to eat off a plate with your fingers. no joke.

okay now the band i'm mentioning this time is hilarious fun... for reals. i kicked it with them in vegas about a year ago and the boys are awesome, the music is bomb, and the new video for "dear maria count me in" is classic. these boys are just starting to make it big and already they're causing a huge commotion online :) check out their page

for all you hip hop heads out there i've got some new flava for your ears ;) being a big hip hop addict myself i'm always lookin for beats out of the commercial loop and one of my favorite underground artists recently released an album in japan but not to worry you can check the tracks on his myspace page :) my favs are hope ft. lauren santiago and everytime ft jung --> pure musical bliss with a shot of hiphop goodness.

it's almost lunar new year and in honor of this beautiful holiday i'm going to recommend an artist who sings one of my favorite "new year" songs... his name is John West and he has the kind of voice you wanna wake up to in the morning and you fall asleep dreaming about. If you're into that acoustic-jack-johnsony type vibe, you'll probably fall in love.
