hurm...tough choice...should i choose to write about the wonderfully different cultures here in Malaysia or should i choose to write on the breathtaking places that we have here...hurm...Maybe i should just write about how friendly the people are...or maybe about how GOOD the food is...or how cute the guys are :D haha
Malaysia has this mysterious aura that captivates your interest the moment you set foot on her soil.I should know,i used to live in America myself.That is,until i was 11 when i moved back to my motherland,the beautiful Malaysia.
No matter what I choose to write about,Malaysia will still be in the hearts of many...but since I have to choose one...I guess it will have to be how dedicated and patriotic the people are for the country is.Heck,they should be!!!After all,we've only been independent for what...49 years!!!Most of the warriors who fought for independence are still alive and kicking!!!My grandfather was one of those precious people,and he has taught me the meaning of independence and patriotism by telling me stories and showing me pictures...oh those precious times....
Anyway,back to the story.There is no other holiday as fancy and gay as MERDEKA!!!!!Every year,Malaysians,young and old gather together to celebrate the day that our country was granted independence.Now,is that commitment or what?I mean,why should they celebrate Merdeka when there's a totally AWSOME sale going on??why shouldnt they just stay at home and watch tv?why would they brave 3 hours of traffic and countless hours of burning sun just to see parades and videos of people long gone?It's because they love their country!!!They're proud that after all those long hard years of forced labour,intolerrable cruelty and maniacal killings,we're finally a free people...Free to celebrate our FREEDOM!!!Free to go outside the house without fear of being harmed...free to join hands and sing their hearts out to those who have sacrificed so much for the sake of strangers that they havent met...heard about...much less known existed....
So,for those of you who are still sceptical...let me say this...doubt no more...Malaysia is a great country with great people who are caring,responsible and patriotic.they made a stranger (namely me who didnt know a word of malay,and didnt know any malay food or even knew Malaysia existed until my mom told me!!!) feel straight at home with their hospitality and spirit.
So,as for why I love this MY country,well,you just got the main reason up there :D
