Any Taste for Any Thirst, A Surprise in Every Can!
But to my surprise, the new drink product that is supposed to be sold islandwide in supermarkets, coffee shops, convenience stores etc is a rare item to come by. Can't even find a single can near my office!
I dropped by a supermarket near my house this evening, though I managed to find the drinks on sale, there's only a total of 6 cans of "Whatever?" and "Anything?" left on the shelves.I guess the "buy 5 get 1 free" promo really entices people to buy everything on the shelves since they won't know what kind of favour they will be getting as the drinks are not labelled.(Total of 12 Available favours: 6 for the carbonated Anything?, and 6 for the Non-carbonated Whatever?).
I really hope the drink can be widely available for people who wants to have a 'taste' of the new drink in town. Shop that have the drinks sold-out should re-stock quicker! If not people will be searching "Everywhere" and "Anywhere" to hunt down the drink.
Learning how to play the piano for the first time is really difficult.
I felt I was E.T playing a piano with my stiff fingers.
Glad that I managed to complete the 21km half marathon run without picking up any new injuries.
The timing of 2hrs 3minutes is pretty slow, but given the lack of training, every kilometers is really down to pure determination. I will start to train for the 42km Full Marathon on 3 December 2006, and this time will hope for better improvement in my timing.
After resting for 10 days and without any trainings since the dog attack, I'll be heading off to run my Half Marathon at the Sheares Bridge Run & Army Half Marathon 2006 flagging off at 5:30am.
The wound on the left shin have healed up about 90%, hence I hope my body and just-recovered shin will be able to take the stress of the 21km run later without giving any problem.
Wish me luck!
I was entering my final phase of training in preparation for next week's Army Half Marathon. I was doing my regular runs along the jogging pavement near the canal over at Jurong West last evening at about 7:42pm.

Star: Point where the attack happens
I was running past a lady in her mid 30s walking her Jack Russell in the same direction where I'm heading when it out of no reason jump diagonally across my path and attack at my left shin. Not knowing I was bitten and thought I just suffered a serious bang, I kept on running. Only after about 150meters from the point of attack then I suffered numbness in my left shin which then I walk towards a lamppost and realised I've suffered a fairly deep bite and was bleeding very badly. The swell and bite wound was so bad it's like a volcano erupting.
With my shock state of mind, I did not head back over to confront the dog owner or at least take down her particulars. My mind was only thinking how am I going to get back home with such a huge amount of blood gushing out. As I don't carry a towel during my runs, with my left hand covered with blood trying to keep the blood gushing out of the wound, I limped 3km back home to stop the bleed before heading to a doctor.
At the clinic, the doctor clean up the wound and it was a fairly bad one. One deep puncture right down the musle of my shin and a few other small bite marks and scratches at the side of the deep puncture. I was given a tetanus shot, some pills including painkillers, anti-inflammatory pills, antibiotic and antiseptic cream for the wound. As scarring can't be prevented, I opted not to get the wound stitched since it won't help much except for the wound to close up faster. My shin was bandaged to prevent any excess blood from oozing out due to movement.

Collected my Agent18 Shield for iPod nano from wolfie of macusersg.org who kindly agreed to purchase and bring one back for me from Australia.
I've been looking for it all over the apple stores, iShops, shops selling apple accessories but can't seems to find it. Now I know why it's sold out so long ago here in Singapore, it's slim, it's cool, it doesn't scratch the iPod nano, and it offers great protection against light knocks. The price though is on a slightly high side $39.95 AUD.
Apart from the slightly high price tag, I highly recommend this protective case for all iPod nano user. Look no further, Agent18 Shield is the ONE for you!

Was at the Moto Groundforce Global BMX Flatland Series held at the Suntec City Mall Entertainment Centre Atrium in Singapore, shooting some cool BMX flatland actions yesterday afternoon. The competing amateurs and pros really give a cool demonstration of this extreme sports.
It's really amazing to watch how they can execute technically difficult tricks so easily right in front of you.
It's my first time shooting BMX flatland, here's one of the photo I've taken from the event which I like best:

Went to Sim Lim Square last evening before heading back to office for work. Headed down to Tec-Drome and paid $60 (Original price was $69.90) for the new Microsoft Xbox 360 Controller for Windows to replace my old gravis gamepad pro.
I have not played FIFA soccer on the PC for quite sometime as I'm terrible playing it using the keyboard. I hope the investment in this new USB game controller will allows me to enjoy playing sports or action games on the PC.
This Xbox 360 Controller for Windows is also compatible with the Microsoft Xbox 360 console which I do not own at the moment. The weight of the controller, vibration and handling feels much better than the first generation Xbox.
Met up with SFFMadness from htpc-gear.com to pick up two new Seasonic S12 430w power supply unit (PSU) to replace those cheap and noisy power supply units I'm currently using at home.
Have to get my hands dusty and dirty again after I just experience that a week ago installing my temporary replacement Celeron D system.
Took me an hour replacing the PSU on both my home server and my client PC. After powering on both machines with the new PSU, the noise level dropped quite a lot, leaving only noises coming from the spinning harddisks and 80mm utility fans. Temperature monitoring also shown great improvement over my previous iCute power supply units. The 12cm fan mounted on the Seasonic PSU must have greatly improved the air circulations.
Highly recommended Power supply unit for gamers as well as users seeking low-noise computer setup.
My Ratings:
Performance: 5/5
Value for money: 4/5 ($155 SGD for a power supply unit is kinda pricey, would give full marks if it's < $100)
Seasonic S12 430w
Items inside the box (Instruction manual, Seasonic Sticker, 4 casing mounting screws, power cord, 4 pin to floppy power splitter and the Power supply unit)
I went to The New Paper Big Walk 2006 this morning around 5:30am not to walk, but to take part in the Nikon-Bigwalk Shootout.
Being there so early, I'm entitled to enter the Early Bird Bonus Draw (First selected 100 registrants who reports at the Nikon registration booth).
The big walk flagged off at 7:30am. All you see are waves and waves of of people (both competitive and leisure participants) trying to surge in-front. The Big Walk ended around 10:30am to 11:00am.
All fellow Nikon shooters who took part in the shoot-out (photography competition) waited for the early bird bonus draw and normal lucky draw. I've never won anything from a lucky draw in my life, hence never have any high hopes of coming away with anything. Guess what, I won both the lucky draws conducted. I won a 1GB Sandisk Ultra II Compact Flash card from the Early Bird Bonus Draw. The normal draw prizes I won were a Nikon camera sling bag and a Nikon vest. Hope my luck in winning lucky draws carries on from here...
Overall it's a fun day, taking a stroll along Nicoll Highway (morning exercise), trying to photographed the participants, meeting fellow Nikon camera users.

And off they go...
