So ive been commuting to and from work everyday. I commute because of the high gas prices, and i hate driving in traffic.
Because of the high gas prices, more and more people are commuting, and one of the cheapest and fastest ways is via the MRT. The past weeks, ive noticed that there was an increase in passengers. How do i gauge? The lines to get to the station...sometimes, the lines reach up to the streets, because there are only 2 guards checking the bags of the passengers. Also, whenever i get on the platform, there are always a lot of people there waiting for the trains...and being the undisciplined Filipinos that we are, we dont form lines...so its every man for himself. And usually the train is full (like sardines in a can) especially during rush hours. Actually even early in the morning. I get off at 5am, the MRT opens 5:30AM. and since ive started working, ive been able to sit on the mrt less than 10 times.
An MRT train i think has 4 cars. The first car , is reserved for the elderly, women, disabled and those with children, and the rest is for everyone. Why is it that women still go for the other cars when they have one reserved for them. When i ride the MRT, its always packed and people really rub against each other. So women can get felt-up if people really want to.
Next, when people get in the train, they always pack by the doors. Even when the middle of the cars have space...So people have difficulty getting in or out the train.
As for the people going in, why dont they let people out first before rushing in...
There are also instances when, already off the train and just to get out of the station, where you insert the card thru the slot to exit, some people dont know how to do it? How the heck were they able to get in in the first place if they dont know how?
Oh, and today, i was standing as usual in the middle of the train, a little bit spacious...then this big guy went in the middle in between me and another person. He was with 2 other people and they made a circle in the middle so his back was on my back. They were like in a conference talking not that loud but you can hear them. Anyway, hearing them talk was annoying already, but his back kept pushing on my back. It was hot because there were a lot of people and his back hitting my back made it hotter. And he didnt even have to push me, because there was some room to move, but he didnt budge. I tried pushing back but for some reason he didnt get it, maybe he thought the train movements made me push back.
Nope, not the guns kind of shooting, but the shooting o a tv series...
Yesterday, they were shooting scenes of the new ABSCBN teleserye in our office. They took up our pantry so i had to go to either the 1st or 2nd floor to wash my cup and get hot water. But there were times when theres not too many people watching, i got water from the 3rd floor. Not sure what the title of the teleserye is but its the one with Claudine, Gabby and Diether. I got to see all 3 of them. I was even about 2 inches from Gabby when i got to the hallway and he was standing by the door. Some of their props are still in the office when i eft today. So probably they're going to shoot there again. I'll try to bring a camera so i can take pix =P
Im off to sleep....
Yesterday morning, as i was going home, i had a brush with death...
It was saturday, early morning juat past 6am, so there wasnt much cars on the road. I rode the MRT then got off a station to ride a bus. Usually, when i get off the MRT, there were a lot of buses waiting nearby or passing. But for some reason, there wasnt much, maybe because they were at the LTFRB trying to get a fare matrix so they can charge higher fare since it was approved that fares will be increased and they can only charge the new fares if they had the matrix. Anyway, after waiting around 10mins, i was able to get on a bus. Some of the passengers were complaining about the fare increase and started ranting among themselves. I noticed the bus diver looking back at some of the passengers, and was listening in on them. The bus was going fast since there werent much cars. Then some cars in front slowed down or stopped and since the bus was going fast, the driver tried to avoid the cars that slowed and veered right. I thought the bus was going to go on its side because we were going fast. Good thing it didnt, but it was scary. The conductor was thrown forward and fell on the aisle. As the bus veered right, it clipped another bus, and that bus hit the gutter and fencing. It was my fisrt bus aacident and i didnt know what to do. The passengers then started getting off and were saying "baba na" or "get off the bus. So i just followed them. Then the driver or conductor of the other bus came to our bus and started shouting and cursing...
then police started to come and we caused a lot of traffic early in the morning. Good thing it was saturday and most have no work or it would be a traffic jam. So i can go home, i gave my ticket to the conductor and gave me fare so i can get on another bus. I got on a bus and i noticed i was just 5 mins away from where i was to get off. Anyway, i got home safe which im thankful for...
If only that bus driver was paying attention to the road, there wouldn't be an accident...
How come we here in the Philippines are left out of the MTV Swag? There are some cool stuff there that i'd like to get my hands on...
My PC bogged down so i get to go online only when my bro isnt using the laptop...
Just got my first payslip! Its not big but still my first earnings from working! Now, what to do with it, hehehe. For now, im keeping it in my atm, but i might buy some clothes, cause were supposed to wear business casual attire at work and most of my clothes are jeans and tshirts.
Oh, and today, i had my longest sleep since working. i think i slept for 13 hours.
internet is on the fritz again! everytime i get home, the internet bogs down. it like its playing with me. My brother says we have connection, and as i turn on the PC, i start to notice one of the lights of the modem start blinking, meaning that connection is down. I got access today, but its too slow. Repair guy still hasnt dropped by as we already complained.
Work is starting to get more difficult, as were handling real claims now, but atleast we still have to send our work to a checker before they are processed. Its still a bit confusing, but starting to get a hang of it. Also getting used to the vampire life. Cant wait to get my first pay next week!
I picked up a pair of HULK Smash Hands i won for my brother yesterday before going to work. It looks cool but me thinks its for kids. I tried putting my hands in it and its a bit tight. After work later or tomorrow since i go home at 5am, i'll wait it out a bit at work so i can get another pair of Hulk Smash Hands around 9am.
Oh, since i started working, which was last week, i started to lose weight...last i checked, i lost 5 lbs. Woohoo! Another 10-15 and im on my ideal weight!
okay, so ive been working for almost a week now. and so far im oko with it. its like going to school at night. maybe because were still at training, so were being spoon-fed everything we need to know.
i had difficulty sleeping during the day the past few days. ive been sleeping for about 4 hours/day, so im really sleepy at work =P. Atleast we can get all the coffee we want at work. Too bad i dont drink coffee, but i did drink the first 2 days of work because i was really sleepy. Now i bring my own hot chocolate mix.
i just got my parlotones prize from MTV. I got a signed shirt and a cd. No time yet to listen to the cd. Only problem is why they had to sign the shirt and not the cd? I dont know if i should wear the shirt coz if i do and i have it washed, the signatures might and would probably wear off.
Anyway, im going back to sleep in a while coz i have work later tonight.
Yesterday was my 1st day of work or should i say first night at work since im in the night shift. Only had orientations, was given a mug, keycard and a locker key, which i hung on a lanyard they also gave. I almost broke the key on my first day...my locker was on the 2nd row on the bottom. i opened it to place my stuff. the key was left on the slot, and i stood up. since the key was on my lanyard on my neck, the key bent when i stood up. good thing it didnt break off, or it would be too embarrassinf to ask for a replacement key on my first day.
Anyway, i got home today around 6:30am. tried to sleep but was only able to get 2 hours.
tonight is supposed to be my 2nd day, but guess what? its a holiday! hahaha
Grrrrr....internet has been on the fritz the past couple of days. Not sure, maybe because of the typhoon.
I start work on monday! I'll be living the vampire lifestyle...i'll be sleeping in the day and awake at night...
I just got an email from an MTV staff that i won in the Parlaphones contest. I won a CD and a shirt. Woohoo!!
Yey to me! =)
Its been a while since i won something from MTV...
