Thank God, finally we'll getting an extra dose of Sex and the City on the silver screen!  HALLELUJAH!!!!!

I watched Sex and the City since, how old I was back then, hmm ... 15 and I was much influenced by the girls (Carrie, Samantha, Miranda and Charlotte).  God, the show got me hooked and I was seriously in love with their styles.  Each characters are distincted from each other through their styles and it's easy to know the characteristics of each character through what she wears.

For example, I know Samantha is flirtacious and sex hungry because her taste in clothings that's hooker-ish yet vampy like the plunging cowlneck dress that if I pull it down I can almost see her famous p... Sealed, while Carrie is a designer-mad, shoe mad and handbag mad because her wardrobe is made of nothing but Chanels, de la Rentas, Valentinos, and yup, rows upon rowns of Manolos, Choos and Louboutins.  I envy that ok!

In other words, Sex and the City is not just about flirting and partying around, as well as bed-hopping with different men every single night.  To me, it mirrors the reality of living among single women of the 30's and above who are still looking for the perfect ONE.  Maybe HBO should do a follow-up to the series ... with a little twist.  How about Men and the City? Wink

Gee, it's almost two weeks straight (yup, TWO WEEKS) I've been on the Hot Blogs list. I even got my pic displayed under Utt's on MTV Asia site for the same duration of time.

The question of the day - Am I that HOT? Cool

There's a place for all of us fashion-mad citizens to mingle and it's kinda like Myspace.  It's called IQONS and it's cool. Laughing

When I first joined the online community, I felt just at home. There are hundreds of fashion designers, models, illustrators, writers and even wannabes converged into this place all with one good reason - fashion.

The site also allows you to exhibit your artworks and if you're lucky enough, a bunch of important fashion figures might be interested in buying your designs as they scouted for new and fresh ideas.  So what you're waiting for, I can't wait to see you there.  Prove to me that you're a serious fashionista! Wink

The Malaysian Muslims are calling for a ban on Bruce Almighty's sequel, Evan Almighty stating that the movie is poking fun on Islam and the image of Noah, one of the 25 Islamic prophets.  Boy oh boy, not another ban.  I know this is not a much anticipated movie by Malaysians but for God's sake, it's just fun and humor stuff.  I guess we have the longest list on banned movies.

In 1999, the Government imposed a ban on Prince of Egypt, an animated feature based on the life of Moses and the Hebrew Exodus from Egypt to the Promised Land.  Their reason?  Moses is a Muslim prophet and it's a sin to depict prophet images.  Another ban was imposed on Daredevil, a real-life adaptation from the Marvel comic stared Ben Affleck.  They said that the movie was too violent and not suitable for kids and adults alike .... yeah, right.... HWEKKKK!!!!!

The same thing happened to Bruce Almighty in 2003.  At first they decided to ban the movie just because Morgan Freeman is God.  Before that Dogma because Alanis Morisette played God... wow, God is a rock chick, AWESOME!!!   What else ... oh but the ban was lifted and Bruce Almighty lived for another day, but the length of the movie was shortened to 1 hour and 45 minutes because there's quite many scenes were deleted from the movie.  Shuggggs!!!!

But luckily, the Cultural Minister said that before any bans should be called, he urged the people to watch the movie first and only after watching it they can reason out why such movie should be banned.  I totally agree with that.  Why should we ban a movie when we now that the movie watchers are no longer small kids who needs thorough censorships of sort.  We know what's right and what's wrong so what the heck with that?

Anyway my hope is that this movie, which is fun and interesting as I judged from its trailer, will live another day, just like its predecessor Bruce.  In fact, Noah in New York... that's ridiculous, hahahahah!!!!

Of late so many fashion designers are channeling Paul Poiret.  I know he's a fashion designer and now resides in a crypt (literally translated as dead if you don't understand) but who is he actually.  Well, after running my own research, I discovered that he was to be one of the top designers ever lived on this planet earth before the First World War took place.

Combining Art Deco and Oriental elements into his luxurious creations of gowns, and also created hobble skirt.  At the time, it was the height of Belle Epoque period (if you don't know start reading art history books!) and fashionistas have started to adopt new look by abandoning their corsets in lieu of brassieres, and the liberal usage of vibrant colors in his creation instead of the softer ones did cause a commotion among the Edwardian period fashion fans who have been used to the soft tones.

Poiret was also best known for throwing lavish parties and plays that features his designs.  All of his parties, the One Thousand and Second Night was the best and grandiose of all.  300 guests were invited to the party and he requested them to be fully-attired in Oriental clothings (you know Chinese, Arabian, Indian, and no Baju Kurung at that time) and those who were improperly dressed will be given two choices - to redress themselves in his Persian outfit or get the hell off this party!

Another trademark by poiret is his love of rose.  He first included the flower as a decorative motif to adorn his label but afterwards, the rose is apparent in his creations.  He even had a feud with late Coco Chanel by labelling her designs as "Luxury's Poverty" (how dare he called her tweeds like that?  It'll cost you at least RM80 000 to get a Tweed suit from Chanel you know).

Before there was Chanel No.5 or Dior Poison, Rosine by Paul Poiret was the poster perfume of all fragrances.  Named after his daughter, he was the first couturier to launch his own fragrance line just like what Elizabeth Taylor as the first celeb to do that (kind of). Last year, Poiret's invention of cocoon and lantern dresses reemerged back to the runways and so do this year.  To honor the man himself, New York Metropolitan Museum (New York Met) held an exhibition called Poiret - King of Fashion.

For quite a long time I haven't keep in touch with my former English lecturer Mr. Airil Haimi or affectionately known as Teech.  At certain times I only posted several comments on his Myspace that are oftenly wrote in French because he's quite good with that tongue-twisting lingo while I still in the intermediate level since I got D for French in my SPM, hahaha!!!

Anyway life goes on so slowly but not until today when I found out that his wife has given birth to their first child and how the hell do I know about it?  Through an article he wrote in GLAM, a Malaysian lifestyle and fashion magazine.  Unlike me who lacks paternal feelings and emotions hence the reason why I hate (yes, HATE) kids so much, Teech love kids and he even treated me like his own son though we're only 8 years apart.

A man of knowledge and wisdom, I tend to seek his advice whenever I'm in doubts and he's a good listener too.  There are times we had issues but usually there's always a way to resolve them.  Now he is a father to a newborn child and I'm really happy for him.  I wonder how it feels like to change your baby's diaper for the first time and how it feels to wake up in the middle of the night when your baby cries.

Assign me to the task and I'll quit.  I've no enough patience to stand with kids and kids tend to make me go crazy but as years passing by and matures me, I began to rekindle my childhood moments and slowly I understood why children can be, at times, so annoying.  That's because I used to be like them so I understand it very well.  Back to Teech, I haven't heard anything yet from him and I do expect a thing or two on my newborn baby brother sooner or later.

So, wherever you are Teech, take care and someday we shall meet again.  Send my regards to your wife and my little angel.

Why Pikachu never exist?  It would be nice if he exists, along with other animals.  He'll be the best pet you'll ever keep.  The yellow fur and its pudgy body that makes me want to squeeze the life out of him.

Cutie Pikachu ... I wish someday you'll enter my life and we may be brothers like you and Ash did in the TV.
