Their debut album, PCD, has sold over 7 million copies internationally on the strength of hit singles like "Buttons," "Stickwitu" and "Wait A Minute." Besides touring the globe and performing with The Black Eyed Peas and Christina Aguilera, their infectious dance hits and enthralling performances have allowed them to bag a slew of prestigious awards.

Karen Mok is an accomplished actress and singer who has enjoyed phenomenal success in Asia since making her debut in 1993. In 2003, Karen created waves in the music scene when she was crowned Best Female Singer in Taiwan’s prestigious Golden Melody Awards (the equivalent of the Grammy Awards in the Mandarin music market). She was the first female artist from Hong Kong to be given this highest recognition in the Mandarin music scene. Karen Mok is also a constant favourite at the MTV China award shows, having received accolades at the CCTV-MTV Music Honors 2000 & 2003 and also the SMG-MTV Style Gala 2004. In 2005, Karen made history again by being the first Asian star to take on the lead role in the Broadway hit musical RENT on its 10th Anniversary World Tour during the Asian stops.
The award-winning actress has appeared in nearly 40 films since her foray into acting in 1994. Since then, Karen Mok starred in several Hong Kong box office hits like Shaolin Soccer, one of the highest grossing films in the region, Stephen Chow’s The God of Cookery and Cory Yuen’s action movie So Close. This talented artist also won critical acclaim for her role in Fallen Angels—directed by famed Hong Kong director Wong Kar-Wai— taking home the Best Supporting Actress award at both the Hong Kong Film Award and the Golden Bauhinia Awards in 1996. Karen Mok has recently completed filming Ekachai Uekrongtham’s English-language thriller The Coffin.

Rocking hot performers revealed.
Jabbawockeez, Leona Lewis, OneRepublic, Panic at the Disco, Super Junior, The Click Five and The Script to bring the house down on August 2. MTV fans can enjoy a night of phenomenal performances, with some coming from the nominees themselves. It has been a ground-breaking year for Breakthrough Artist nominees, Leona Lewis and OneRepublic. English songstress Leona Lewis has been on a roll since her debut, having received raving reviews from international critics for her album Spirit and topping the U.K. and U.S charts. OneRepublic has outdone themselves in the past year with their second single “Stop and Stare” crossing the 2 million copy mark.
Video Star nominee, Panic at the Disco will certainly be visually stimulating to watch, having previously won the video of the year at the 2006 MTV Video Music Awards with the video “I Write Sins Not Tragedies”. They will be joined by Favourite Artist Korea nominee Super Junior, a diverse boy band whose forte lies not only in singing but also in dancing.
Other than the nominees, The Click Five—who have just completed their first headline concert tour in South East Asia and also in Hong Kong, Taipei and Japan— will be bringing audience their catchy pop tunes while Jabbawockeez, America's best dance crew, will wow the crowd with their signature style and unforgettable movement. The Script, who has brought us soulful anthems like their hit single “We Cry” will also be joining the star-studded line-up. With practically all music genres covered from hip hop to rock to pop and R&B, the MTV Asia Awards 2008 is definitely going to be a show to remember.

From his sterling turns in several meaty roles in films, to making some of the most beautiful, emotionally resonant music in the critically acclaimed album A Beautiful Lie, Jared has done it all.
Now, the multi-talented Jared will also play host at the 2008 MTV Asia Awards (MAA) happening in Genting, Malaysia, on August 2.
We stole a few quick minutes of Jared's time, and spoke to him about about the MAAs, as well as surviving in a band with a sibling.

Jared: Well, I have quite an obvious interest in Asia, I've talked about it quite a bit, shot a video in China. It was a really great experience for us as a band, something we still talk about to this day. And for us, coming to a place like Malaysia is a very very exotic and mysterious experience. So I'm really excited about it, and very thrilled to have been asked to be a part of the festivities and I'm looking forward to it!
MTV: So are we! But going back to when it all started, when and why did you decide to go into music, having first enrolled into a university primarily for an Arts (painting) course?
Jared: I've always made music since I was a kid. But we've been making music as a band for a long time. It's something that I always did, and it just started taking over a bigger part of my life. Eventually we just wanted to make a CD and go on tour. Music is interesting. It can be very seductive and exciting. That's just what happened to us. It just became a bigger and bigger passion for us, and something that we wanted to pursue even more.

The MTV Asia Awards road show kicks off at 12pm, with the MTV VJ introducing the event, and hosting games where you can win tickets to the MTV Asia Awards. Also be sure to catch the performance by the Malaysian’s nominees and the EDC fashion show.

"We are delighted to be associated with the forthcoming MTV awards as this will provide an excellent opportunity to be able link up with the commitment and enthusiasm of young people throughout Asia. The disasters in Myanmar and China have been a huge tragedy for the millions of people directly affected, but the Red Cross has already been able to do a lot to help them from the very first hours. Now the recovery work is beginning, and we all have a role to play in helping so many families and communities to re-build their lives and their hopes for a better future." says Alistair Henley, head of the Asia Pacific office, IFRC.
The 2008 MTV Asia Awards to be held on August 2, will be a night of music celebration, love and hope as celebrities and fans alike put their best foot forward to contribute to the tragedy. Donations can be
