I was amazed when I checked this site and found out that my blog is still alive. I'm sorry I haven't been able to come back for a really long time. A lot of things has happened since my last visit.

First is my work. I got busy with my first project. The job assignment was to make documentations on some of our software products. It was actually my first time to be a technical writer and my partner is located in California. I had my work cut out for me, but it was a good thing that my partner was really nice and she was a good mentor. We no longer work together but we still keep in touch and have become friends. Anyway, after that project I returned to being a software developer. The only difference this time is the technology or the programming language that is being used: Ruby on Rails. It was okay learning it at first, but as time goes by I found that I did not like it. So I asked my manager that I be put on a Java project. The problem this time is that they don't have a Java project for me.

To be honest, work has become quite boring since last year. But I did not quit right away in hopes that I would be given a new project again, but it did not work out. That's one of the reasons why I decided to continue my graduate studies and enrolled to the university again. From June last year until March this year my schedule was pretty hectic. I have to go to work in the morning then go to university right after. Sometimes I even have to go to school on Saturdays for my classes. Some of my friends would even say that they wonder how I keep up with my schedule specially since going to school means additional work (assignments, projects, exams, etc.). Other people would even comment that I have no social life anymore. What they do not know is that going to university again just made me gain more friends. Besides, we also know how to have fun outside of our school work.

Right now, as of this moment, I am writing this post while waiting for my antivirus to finish scanning my laptop. The truth is, this is my last day here in the office and I have to turn over this laptop to our systems administrator. I'll be moving on to a new job, to another country. By Sunday next week I will be moving on to a new adventure. I'll let you know as soon as I can.

The one thing I can't leave home without has to be my wallet. It has my ID, 1 ATM card, a little money, and it's where i usually insert my small comb. ^_^

The ID and ATM card are for emergencies, just in case. A little money could bring me whereever I want to go. And the comb of course will help me keep my hair in place. ^_^

Hey! I checked my earned moolahs and guess what I found out...

I earned 50 moolahs for a FEATURED PIC!

Can you believe that?!

Really... I was surprised to find out about it as I did not see it on the date it was featured.

Now I wonder which pic it was...

Yo! It's good to be back here on Mobbed Blog. It's been months since my last post... Work can sometimes take up much of my time. But I'm not going to talk about my work here. This time I'm going to talk about all the fun stuff I was able to squeeze into my busy sched.

Sometimes my friends and I would do a movie marathon whenever our schedules allow. Actually we've only done it twice. The 1st time was during the screening of StarWars Episode3. What we actually did was we watched the 1st 2 episodes of StarWars at a friend's house, had dinner there too, then went to the movie house to watch the 3rd episode. After the movie we went back to our friend's house to spend the night. The following day we continued watching the other 3 episodes of StarWars. Just last April we did another movie marathon and this time it was Lord of the Rings. Since we started on a Saturday night, we only got to watch the 1st episode that night and continued watching the other episodes the following day. Again we spent the night at our friend's house. What was really fun this time was that after we watched all 3 episodes, another friend brought out his Monopoly game set and it was the LOTR edition of Monopoly. We had so much fun playing it was like we were kids again. We're still planning for our next movie marathon...

I said in my 1st entry that we sometimes go on trips out of town. Yes, that's true. Last January I went to MoalBoal for the weekend with my former officemates. It was a really nice place to go to and relax. We slept in a tent by the beach, went to the orchid garden, and we also went snorkeling. The live chorals were magnificent and we saw a lot of different kinds of fish. We had so much fun. Another town I went to with my friends is Bogo, which is actually the hometown of one of my friends. We went there during the town's fiesta so there were lots of delicious food. Last year I also went to Dumaguete and visited my bestfriend. The 1st night we went to the Japanese shrine and the following night we went to the Forest Camp. Both nights we slept in a tent. During the day she showed me around town.

Last June we had our company summer outing. We went to Shangri-la Mactan beach resort. That resort is really expensive so it was nice to finally be able to go there for free ^_^ [it's free since the company is paying for it]. The resort was really beautiful and the food was great. It was really fun, too.

I can't wait to get away from the city on another trip to see other places and meet other people. I'm posting some photos of the trips I mentioned here so just check my albums.

I'd better get back to work now. 'Til next time!

"I'm home!"

Yup. I'm back from my short vacation. I took my summer break for a few days, 3 to be exact, last week. It was a rare occasion because I work 5.5 days a week. In observance of the Lenten Season, we only got to work from Monday to Wednesday and the rest of the week was a holiday. I took advantage of the holiday. =p

I went to my mother's hometown, Lomonon, which is in another island called Leyte. You have to travel by boat in order to get there since they don't have an airport. My parents and sisters went there Monday afternoon last week. I followed them Wednesday night right after my work. I travelled with my uncle who lives there but works here in Cebu. The port was bustling with busy people hurrying to their own boat. It's expected since it was a holiday and everyone was excited on getting away from the city and enjoying the quiet life of the rural areas and their hometowns for a few days. Too bad I wasn't able to bring a camera to capture my adventures, but I promise to tell it all here in all honesty and as detailed as I can.

Anyway, the trip going there wasn't what I expected. It was very windy that night. The boat wasn't really that big so you can really, and I mean REALLY, feel the boat rocking as the waves hit it. There was a point when I though I would throw up from my dizziness. Then my uncle told me that we will be getting off in another town, a town I thought just near Lomonon but turned out to be more or less half an hours drive away. We left Cebu at 8:30 Wednesday night and we arrived in Leyte 7 hours later. So by the time I arrived at the house it was already almost sunrise, and I went straight to bed being tired from the trip.

When I woke up it was already so bright and sunny outside. And oh, our house is near the sea, just a very few meters from the shore. It has been more or less 6 years since I was last there and a lot has changed since then. The house is bigger than it used to be, made of concrete instead of wood, and it's finally complete. There are more plants in the yard, and there are also 3 big turtles! There's a small cottage which serves as the dirty kitchen. Even the shore looks different this time, I don't know why but I think it does. The roads are also cemented and not so dusty like it used to, and the other houses have also changed from small to bigger ones, from wooden to concrete.

Hear ye! Hear ye! I'm finally here at last. Hurray!!!

There. I've expressed my excitement in finally having this blog. Honestly, I don't know what to talk, or should I say write, about right now. Any suggestions? Anyone?

I was thinking I would introduce myself in this entry, but I think I've written down a lot on my profile. So just check out my profile if you want to get a glimpse of who I am, ok?

Hmmnn... I guess I really did not write everything there, did I? Well, ok. I'll tell you more about me.

I mentioned in my profile that I dwell in the IT world. Yes. I have a degree in Computer Science and have been working as a software developer for 3 years. And I'm telling you right now... I AM NO GEEK. I leave all my work in the office. When I get home I watch TV or sleep or read the books I mentioned. I always find time to go and hang out with my friends in the mall and watch movies. Sometimes we play games in the mall arcade. We also go on trips out of town. Tomorrow night I'll be going to my mother's hometown for a short vacation. I'll post some of our pix here one of these days.

Now I'm a code analyst, and last friday I just found out that I have a chance to go to USA for my training. Last saturday I went to a travel agency to get their service in getting me a passport, and yesterday I went to the DFA office for a personal appearance so that my passport application will be processed immediately. I hope to get my passport in the middle of next week. And hopefully I will be granted a visa so I can go for my training.

And speaking of training, I received an email just this morning from my counterpart in the US. She welcomed me into the team and gave a long list of instructions for my preparation for the training and my first assignments. Looks like I'll be doing a lot of reading and stuff when I return from my short vacation. But hey, that's work.
