am i the only one who thinks Happy Slip is not funny? i watched some of her vids yesterday and believe me, she's not funny.
so if ever some of your friends recommend you some of her videos and said, "it's SUPER FUNNY ZOMG ROFL LOLZ watch it", they're exaggerating.
or it's just that i have my own preferences.
it's her facial expression, i guess. it's irritating!! too much movement! especially her nose and her eyebrows. D:
***
on the other hand, i find this video very funny. :D

this is one of the funniest skit MadTV had ever created. i can't stop laughing! they also did a parody on Project Runway which is hilarious but i chose to post this one.
and if you haven't watched Juno yet, you should. i know it's been overly hyped but it is really worth watching.

now, isn't this film an assault to the mind. i never heard anything about David Lynch and his works before (i once thought that he's David Fincher, the one who did Fight Club) but i keep on seeing his name on almost every blog that i read and how these people say how awesome his films are, so i use my broadband to the fullest to download one movie from him to see it for myself. and i picked Lost Highway since it seems to be his most well known work. (OT: i didn't know that a torrent can download much faster than LimeWire :D)
anyway, there are two things that kept me from seeing this film until earlier this evening even though i already have it since wednesday:
- the trailer i watched on YouTube scare the hell out off me. the man with the pale face is SCARY
- there are explicit scenes on the film (i kinda did a research before i watched it) and as what i keep on ranting about films with sex on it, my mom don't aprrove any of it even though i keep on telling her it's done with purpose and not like some movie porn.
Lost Highway is about Fred Madison (played by Bill Pullman) and his deranged/surreal/crazy encounter on the first part of the film. he then gets a death sentence for supposedly killing his wife without his full knowledge. and then one night while he's in his cell, he literally change into another person, named Pete Dayton, a young mechanic. from here, it seems that the film is trying to convey that Fred had completely became to Pete, and is now living a whole new life. only later in the movie, conncetions between the two characters will be unraveled.
one thing i was expecting was Lost Highway will be anything like Donnie Darko. aside from both having a lead character with emotional problem, the two are completely different. oh, maybe also the fact that both film must be watched more than once to completely grasped the whole plot.
Lost Highway was slow. but since the core concept of movie was outside reality, i think it did good. and there are scenes that you'll completely feel that you are deranged. maybe Lynch did it on purpose. (i enjoyed those scenes. ;D)
i could say more but this is the first time i saw this movie and first of its kind. yes, i would definitely watch it again, because the sequencing of the movie was too confusing. if only it was 20mins shorter i could watch it again at this very moment. having to seat at an old computer chair for two hours is not good, mind you.

Tarantino is damn crazy! i like his retro approach in here. i have only seen two movies off of Tarantino, this one and Kill Bill. but now i can say that i like him a lot. though Death Proof is dragging. so many conversations and Rose McGowan only appears on the first half. oh well. must see Planet Terror then.
and i like how most of the things in the movie is a reference to his past works or other things. :D

*gonna buy myself some Holga or Diana on the following months. and that's imperative. since i recently discovered that i spend less if i have large amount of money on my hand that some loose papers and coins. and if those extra monthly allowances i keep on receiving every month goes on, i would be holding some good quality cam on my hand by august then. :D
*since only two more years remain in my college life (rough estimation) i strongly feel that i should try for Heraldo Filipino this coming school year. the lack of orgs or groups at this time around feels unnatural. oh well. and if i didn't make it (80-20 chance, imo) then i should focus even more at my academics.
*the school's having an 8% increase on tuition fee! i should be angry about this because i thought those extra activities that the school were having that i have been talking about were enough to keep this from happening.
*the broadband connection has been pretty lousy these past days. very, very slow. anyway, i tried to install some games earlier but my music and movies have eaten almost 6Gb of my HD's memory. and i'm pretty stubborn to delete some to give up space because they are all precious to me. where's an external HD when you need one.
