Picture heavy post, too lazy to cut.
Friday
Went for my Canon camera workshop in the afternoon before I went to SMU to watch the ♥ sweetheart perform for Starry Nite 7. The workshop was pretty good, gave me lotsa tips and tricks on how to maximize my camera's functions, will come in handy when I go to the US. It's gonna be one big camwhoring trip.
The ♥ sweetheart's performance with his school band, Jives and Knives was good. One of his better performances (but of course, I didn't and refuse to tell him that).

My all time favorite picture of the ♥ sweetheart performing.
Vanessa came to watch too, and it was just hilarious because first, she couldn't see where I was, and when she finally did, she couldn't get to me because it was so CROWDED.

Vanessa is going to think I don't have clothes lor. Seems like every time I see her I'm wearing this black top. Hahahaha.

Zaima happened to be there too. Singapore is so friggin' small, I tell you. She was there because her friend's boyfriend is a singer for one of the bands from SMU that performed. She's my lipgloss/eyeliner buddy.
More Starry Nite Seven pictures here.

I had indigestion which led to me throwing up at the Catholic High School foyer. Hahaha. Only had bread the whole day, everything I ate made me want to throw up.

One of the best horror movies I’ve seen in years. The Orphanage is an underdog Spanish movie which provides a very fresh change to the endless cheesy American horror flicks that’s been hoarding the theaters recently. The movie revolves around Laura (Belén Rueda) who buys the orphanage she grew up in and moves in with her family. Together with her doctor husband Carlos (Fernando Cayo), they raise their adopted and disease-stricken son, Simon (Roger Príncep) and opens a home for handicapped children.
The horror starts when her son starts playing a game of scavenger hunt with his invisible friends. After his sudden disappearance, Laura is convinced that the supernatural has abducted her son. She seeks help from a medium who gives her some sound advice. Forced to play the game herself and led by the clues around the house, Laura discovers disturbing secrets about what happened to her friends in the orphanage after she was adopted from the home years ago.
The movie adapts an elaborate treasure hunt where each clue leads Julia to another clue, and another, as the plot reveals itself. Highly unpredictable, the nice twist at the end makes the whole plot even more believable. The Orphanage is really one unforgettable horror movie which will keep you at the edge of your seat from beginning to end. The only downside to this movie is you have to read from the subtitles but if that doesn’t bother you that much or if you understand Spanish, I highly recommend watching this movie.

I’ve been ‘it’ for such a long time that I think the people who tagged me have already forgotten that they have tagged me. Nonetheless, since I just can’t go on with my impending workload in the office that refuses to stop coming in, I shall take a self-imposed 10 minute break and get down with the tag (among other things) and keep my mind sane for a couple of minutes.
[I can’t seem to make peace with the fax machine.]
Things You Never Knew About Me
- I can’t eat the food from McDonald’s. It makes my stomach upset. I’ll have to poop them all out right after I eat. Ironically, my comfort food is French fries dipped in Hot Fudge sundae.
- I’m a sucker for doughnuts, I’ve loved doughnuts even before the doughnut craze in Singapore hit. I’ve loved them since I was living in Philippines.
- I have a weird relationship with caffeine. Too much and I’d become sleepy. Two to three cups in an hour will make my hands shakey, that’s when I know I’m reaching my max caffeine intake, I guess that’s my optimum, I work best like that.
- I don’t hate fat people per se, I just hate it when they wear tight clothes, I call them caterpillars, or if they are even bigger, maggots. Okay, fine. I hate the obese (take note I said obese, not fat). But it still depends, if they are my friends or if they are close to me, I like them. It’s very subjective.
- I still hate all of my boyfriend’s ex flames. ‘Nuff said.

Based on a series of children's books of the same name, The Spiderwick Chronicles is a visual treat. The movie, which relied heavily on the special effects is a sensory overload for both the young and old. However, plot wise, it failed to deliver the 'edge of your seat' feeling one would expect from a fantasy/adventure movie. With a film rating of PG-13, it is not too surprising that the action sequences and the plot were a little subdued and may not satisfy the older crowd.
Spiderwick Chronicles is about a family who moves into a run-down house that's about 120 years old. It stars Freddie Highmore, playing a dual role of twin brothers Jared and Simon Grace, Sarah Bolger as Mallory Grace and Mary-Louise Parker as Helen Grace. Jared Grace (Highmore), soon uncovers a secret book left behind by his great grand uncle, Arthur Spiderwick (David Strathairn) about the secret world that exists outside the Spiderwick Estate. With the help of Thimbletack the house brownie (voiced by Martin Short), the Graces come up with a plan to safeguard the house and save all the fantastical creatures from the evil shape-shifting ogre Mulgarath (Nick Nolte). Along for the ride are the hot tempered trolls and goblins that work for Mulgarath, the sweet natured faeries, and the bird-crazy Hogsqueal.
However predictable Spiderwick turned out to be, the story does not drag on with boring explanations and history but rather, it jumps right into action almost only ten minutes into the story. It did have humorous moments in parts provided by the Thimbletack and Hogsquel. Watch only if you have no choice but to babysit five-year olds, or in my case, you have free tickets.
My rating: 2.5/5 stars
But because I'm happy, I'll copy and paste the full story here anyway!

In elementary school, a substitute teacher taught us how to point out Singapore on the map. The teacher said: "Put your whole palm on Asia and then say 'Singapore is somewhere there!"
Because of Singapore's humble size, it has been fondly called "The Tiny Red Dot."
It takes only 45 minutes to travel across Singapore.
Coming from a big polluted country like the Philippines, I love the short commutes here and the patches of greenery along the way.
I like to believe, much to the dismay of the people who wait around for me, that it takes only 20 minutes to get anywhere in Singapore.
The most common complaint is that the island is too small for 4.6 million people.
Just a few days ago, I bumped into an old friend whom I had not seen in years. The friend now happens to be in the same university club as another friend of mine.
As more introductions were made, we discovered that we actually had a common pool of friends.
If that's not bizarre enough, how about the time I discovered that my close friend's aunt is actually my boyfriend's mom's good friend?
In Singapore, everyone seems to be connected in one way or another.

Christmas is 2 days away!
On Friday, I had my first round of Christmas gift exchanges with my Uni friends. We came up with this last year when we had our first Christmas dinner at Modesto’s. This year we had it Spageddies, followed by some shopping and desserts at Mind Cafe. It’s funny how everyone knew exactly what to get for everybody. I guess you hang out with people long enough and you find out the stuff they like.

Yesterday, the sweetheart gave me my Christmas gift… and it’s a Thomas Sabo charm bracelet! He also got the first charm on the bracelet and it says ‘My Little Girl’, that’s what he calls me. I have a lot of space for more charms! =)))))) <- That’s a really really big big smile.
