Technology oh technology, how u grow so rapidly.
Some of us get so caught up with technology. Buying Ipods, Cellphones, Cameras, Notebooks etc etc.. i mean even my own mom is pulled in this wave where she's gotta have the latest of everything, like her cellphone cost way much more than mine and she's gotta be up with the trend of fancy-shmancy phones.
Not that im complaining about this, i agree that these digital technology days are very important to daily living . However, im just shocked to see how technology does not see age (eg. my friends little sister who is 9 years old owns a cellphone). Instead of being out playing a good old game of hop scotch or football, their at home texting with their friends (what could a 9 year old possibly be talking about?). I know the meaning now when they say, 'times do change'.
I bought a brand new digital camera and i'll be leaving for a vacation in langkawi island tomorrow ( i know, i know, im a hypocrite when it comes to this topic)
will i ever really find my purpose in life? simple question yet i can't seem to get the answer's. It'll be great if all the answers to my questions in life would just fall on to my lap, but that's not really how the world works now does it?
Again there's times like these that pops up once in a blue moon where your confused with the directions you have taken and really just sit on a balcony overlooking the neighbourhood or just gaze upon the ocean by the beach and really, all you do is just ponder. It feels like you had just taken a really deep breath and you feel glad and blessed that god has given me a great family, awesome friends and a wonderful life. It's a good feeling actually.
I know that i havent been blogging on a daily basis but im not gonna go on about that.
Right now, it's a new year, so i've been reflecting mostly on how i have lived my life so far. First off i'm very proud of my self for the person that i've become in the year 2006. I got a well paying job, got promoted and finally quit at the end. Why? it's because i don't like to just stick on one thing, i wanna try more and be adventurous in life. I dont wanna say that i have stopped at where i am and say "I AM SETTLED". Now that just wouldn't be me. Most of my friends said i was crazy for quitting my job because i was at a high point in my life and they didn't really understand what i was going through. The job was more of a responsibilty that i took, and that responsibility was way more than i could handle. Not to say that im not a responsible person, I was only 18 and i couln't just settle down with that. It was too much stress, took most of my time. I had lost many precious moments with my friends but the worst part was i had lost time with my family. There was one point where i couldn't even head to bandung/bali to spend christmas with my family. That crushed me. And so i felt that it was best that in the highest time in my life, it was the best time for me to step down.
I'm 19 this year, and i have many more dreams to chase after. First off i'm going to continue in furthuring my studies in Broadcasting which is where i really belong. I plan to start soon in April.
I thank god that he had sent me a bunch of soulmates from my workplace. I can't imagine life without them. I love you Sophia, Ju Leong and Sanen. You guys light up my life everyday :)
oh daymn. this has to be one of the most streefull week that i've been through. first of i've got my promotion interview with angie in less than two week and ju leong is pushing me to the max i can really go crazy. i hate memorizing things arghh, at least im doing better in remembering the whole book.
On top of that i have the langkawi trip to look forward to on the 2nd november till the 5th of november. sighh and my interview with kak meeda and angie is on the 6th. That's sure to be one of the funnest yet toughest week of my life.
i'll be shooting tomorrow. again more scripts to remember! i'm honoured that they picked me to talk about 'my starbucks' i love doing shoots like that but when there's a script involved im really toast. i only have one day to prepare and i should be starting now but my fingers are too itchy on the keyboard.
i hope the shooting goes well tomorrow, camera man get ready for me! haha they'll be showing the footage from the shoot tomorrow at the open coffee forum in front of hundreds of people. i wonder what the reactions will be. kak meeda chose me and azam to go for the forum. i'll be going with azam, at least i have a good company with me there not like the last coffee forum which was kinda awkward for me..oh well.
oh my godd..
i realised that i havent blogged in a while..
here are some quick updates, first off i finally got my annual leave for a week and where do i go? BALI!! hell yeah it was all last minute plans with my mum and cousin, we quickly booked a flight to surabaya for the next day. didnt sleep the whole night, what was the point? the flight was at 7 am so we took a cab to the airport at about 4am. NO POINT OF SLEEPING!
reached surabaya around noon and rinne was there to greet us, we planned that the four of us, me, lis, rinne and megah to get the first flight to bali at 6pm on the same day but that darn flight was fully booked so heck we got the next one on the next day at 6am while our parents got the afternoon flight. that only means we got BALI all to ourselves for the whole day! i tell you we were fucking excited.
we were in a rush the morning of our flight but made in time to check in our baggage. megah even got time to stop for some dunkin donuts for god's sake! the flight took us about 30-40 minutes and when we landed all four os us could not believe that we were in land of bali. the fresh breeze of air was beautiful. we took a cab to our hotel called "komala indah" it was supposed to be by the beach. the cab driver took us there when we realised that we were in the wrong hotel. haha it seems that there were many types of "komala hotels"
our hotel was called "komala indah sunset" which was just about 300 metres down the road. so we walked there with all our luggage and the hotel was beautiful man. the hotel was exactly beside a hotspot clubbing place called "kama sutra" one of the famous clubbing spots in bali.

What happens when you mix a sparkling perrier bottled water with a Pineapple Orange Guava Nantucket?--Amazing results of carbonated fruit juice. sometimes Jlo can be a genius by mixing up all these drinks, and even better, washing it down with hot nasi lemak. i'd say that's a perfect combination of freshness.
Argh only got two hours of sleep, jojo wouldn't let me sleep! and all she could do was text jan on the phone and ignore me. hmmph!
The worse part of my day was, after only having two hours of sleep, i get banging news that i have to work for 8 hours as there were not enough partners. Took a panadol to relieve a my headache and it so didnt work. So i took another pil and the pain was finally gone.
I was glad that work went really good, no complaints whatsoever. Except that i was using Hazrael's till and i accidentally voided two times. DAMN! bet he was pissed, but he didnt really show it. HAHAHA thank god. Yes even better news, IM NO LONGER THE QUEEN OF VOIDING! we have a new winner in sbux! and it's Tajul. serves him right! even Jlo backed me up on that one. i hope that i can improve on this. JUST THIS ONE TASK!
My whole day was basically revolved around TALKING. The whole time i was working, me and Jlo could not stop chit chatting. and boy, was there a lot of things going on that BAPAK SETAN'S head. the best rubbish we talked about was about nana! hahaha we both were reading her Explanation Letter to why she didn't show up for work and her english was pretty interesting, I MEAN VERY VERY INTERESTING, here are a few english errors that nana wrote in her letter. -"The reason why i could not come to work is because i had to go back to THE VILLAGE" and translation is 'she had to balik kampung' another one was "I couldnt call kak meeda because i had no CREDIT'S" translation? 'she had no money in her prepaid card' HAHAHAHA it was just non-stop laughter, even the regular's were a little freaked out! OMG her english is even worse than real village people, I havent even started about her SPELLING errors, there was countless of em'! This might be a little unbelieveable but the topic on nana actually made our day more happier.
Started the day early, as usual..well actually not that usual as work now has a new opening time which is at 7. Thank god they changed it. I hate going through all the trouble driving to work since my sister has no blaady license!!
here's what a typical morning convo with my sis would end up like.
me: lis..get up! send me to work now.
lis: *blurry eyed* huh, take a taxi lah.
me: cannot..im late already lah..*of course it was just a lie*
lis: urgh..fine lah.
yah so that doesnt really happen everyday, only when i know she slept real late, i mean really late.
so i arrived at the lrt station and thought that the bus would already be there, cause it usually was but for some reason the metrobus decided not to show up on time! by that time it was already 6 am. It didnt really matter cause i waited for like, an amazing 15 minute till finally it showed up. Kak Meeda was the opening MOD for today so heck i knew she was gonna be late. heh how evil of me to say that. She was 10 mins late! and i hate to do opening shift with her because i'll do all the work. My eyes were so heavy that i decided i neede something to wake me up. I made a Triple Grande Vanilla Latte for myself. YES I SAID TRIPLE! that's how much i needed to stay awake! The caffein didnt kick in for about half an hour and i was really low that i needed to shut my eye. I tried to stay awake and opened the whole cafe, this time it was a record, i managed to open the entire cafe area in like half an hour! *goodie for me!*
First customer was that annoying KEDEKUT Tzi Zhen. He always gets either a solo espresso or a doppio and then ask's us to add the steam milk in a tall mug, Might as well just order a latte man! but he's so cheapskate!. Yesterday he got a solo esp, and when i was pulling the shot, he asked me "what do u do to the other shot if it's not used?" i said that the shot would either be thrown down the drain or be used in another beverage. Then i knew this question would pop up "Instead of wasting it why dont you just give me the shot." ARRGHH! pay for it BUGGER!! but then customer always comes first so i just gave him an extra shot, didnt want to create a scene with a cheapskate regular! *CURSE YOU TZI ZHEN!*
